Tulipa orphanidea Flava is the colourful variant of T. orphanidea. On long slender stems stands the crown shaped bronze yellow flower which shows green accentes and fine orange edges. Tulipa orphanidea Flava is multi-flowering and with only a few bulbs you can have an impressive sight. This specie originates from South East Europe in countries like, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece. The standard form of T. orphanidea is known since 1862, but the Flava (yellow) form was only introduced in 1960, but probably exists much longer. |
