The mauve crown shaped Tulipa humilis is the basic specie of the humilis tulipa and originates from Eastern Turkey, Northern Iraq and Northern Iran. The colour of the outer petals is more purple than the inside, which makes this specie so beautiful. Plant them on a sunny spot and they will return for years. Tulipa humilis was describe for the first time in 1844.
