Tulipa praestans Shogun

The peculiar coloured Tulipa praestans Shogun is also a young descendant of the T. praestans family. The flowers are warm orange with maybe a hint of apricot. From one bulb and between the grey-green leaves come two to four flowers, which are all beautifully shaped. This specie was introduced in 2000 and descents from T. praestans which grows in the mountains of Central Asia. Tulipa praestans Shogun is named after Shogun, a Japanese title for general and literally means 'army leader who slaughters barbarians'.
